In general, we expect you to achieve a score of at least 2 in at least one of the following three areas: analysis/design, research results, and new functionality. As the semester progresses, we expect to see increasing emphasis on new system functionality.

The "overall progress" score is what counts towards your team's grade.

Analysis/Design

0 1 2 3 4 n/a

0 - no analysis/design

1 - trivial or inadequate analysis/design, insufficient basis for targeted functionality

2 - adequate analysis/design, is a reasonable basis for targeted functionality

3 - very good analysis/design, good basis for targeted functionality

4 - outstanding analysis/design, should allow system to exceed expectations

Research Results

0 1 2 3 4 n/a

0 - no research results

1 - trivial research results, no explanation of how research will help improve design or implementation of system

2 - adequate research results, reasonable explanation of how research will help improve design or implementation of system

3 - very good research results, good explanation of how research will help improve design or implementation of system

4 - outstanding research results, shows ways in which system can exceed expectations

New functionality

0 1 2 3 4 n/a

0 - no new functionality

1 - trivial new functionality

2 - new functionality demonstrating adequate progress towards goals

3 - new functionality demonstrating very good progress towards goals

4 - new functionality demonstrating outstanding progress towards goals
