About Me ....

I've been with the electrical and computer engineering program at York College since 2006.  I'm a bit of a typical "geek", enjoying games of all sorts, from pen and paper to World of Warcraft, and love putting together new projects - it's how I ended up in the field, really. I'm heavily invested in becoming a better professor, with a bit of an emphasis on interesting and realistic projects in my courses. As examples, I've helped sophomores implement a simple VGA controller on a Xilinx FPGA and create an LCD output library for an ARM microcontroller. I've worked with juniors to implement a threading library in Linux, and create data capture modules for use in our materials lab. Features included a Windows executable communicating to the device over USB, and a touch screen display on the device capable of sending data back to the PC in USB keyboard format, allowing it to interface with computers that don't have specialized software involved. I'm currently developing a robotics controller to replace the LEGO RCX module in use in our freshman seminar course, as well as developing systems for use in teaching Windows CE 6.0 to our seniors. I've even built a customized keyboard for video gaming based on the USB HID device class. If you're interested in any projects, feel free to stop by my office and chat - I'm surprisingly easy to distract with new things to build.
