About me...

I grew up near San Francisco in Burlingame, CA. I first became interested in engineering during my 8th grade science class. I had a fantastic teacher, Mr. Wedeking, who assigned design projects and spent hours after school teaching me programming. The summer after 8th grade I saw the movie Apollo 13 and I was hooked. I wanted to be one of those people who could "make this, fit into the hole for this, using nothing but that."

As an undergraduate, I attended Bucknell University where I became passionate about undergraduate engineering education. Inspired to pursue a faculty career at a primarily teaching institution, I earned my Masters and PhD from Stanford University in mechanical engineering and then joined the faculty of York College summer semester 2008. I have diverse teaching and research interests which include mechanical design, dynamics and controls, robotics, and spacecraft design.

In my free time I enjoy skiing, cooking, traveling, participating in community service activities, and playing cello.  My husband, Scott, works in business intelligence at Miltex, a biotech company here in York.
