Dr. Peter B. Levy is a Full Professor in the Department of History and Political Science, York College. Born and raised in northern California, he received his B.A. (1978) from the University of California, Berkeley, and M.A. (1980) and Ph.D. (1986) from Columbia University, in New York City. He is married, has two children, and lives in Towson, Maryland. He specializes in recent American history, has written numerous books and articles on the civil rights movement and the 1960s, and teaches courses on Modern America, Women, Race, and Economic history (see below for links to specific courses and publications). Among his interests and activities outside the classroom are traveling, coaching and watching his children's numerous athletic activities, and playing tennis.
